If anyone has any other ways they fixed it let me know I am trying not to be upset but it is still frustrating. I know it was made for the ps4 and possibly they just used those programs and carried them over but come on! At least have different options other than high med low. I have seen similar games do it just fine. The specs apparently need 500 gb of vram and I only hae 128 or something but it just doesn't make sense why a game like this would need that. I just didn't even think twice when I bought it because I figured it was a 2D platforming game. I can handle games like Company of Heroes and I can't handle a 2D platformer? It is literally a 600 MB download, and for it to be this POORLY OPTIMIZED is just a slap in the face. On certain levels I can set the resolution higher but if there is a tournament you can't pick levels anymore, it pickes them at random so I either put it in windowed mode so when a level comes on that I can't handle, I make it smaller, or I just leave it at lowest res possible. Right clicked my desktop and set my resolution from the highest setting, to the (sigh) lowest. I have finally figured out a way to play it, but it makes the graphics less pretty but it is at least playable. I ran compatibility modes by going into the game files and setting it to 16 bit colors and nothing worked. I was freaking out a little because I was mad and I did everything to going into my system bios and setting the vram up from where it was to like 500 something and it still didn't work. I turned graphics to low and it barely helped. Started her up and menus worked great but the only level I could play was dungeon because it had the least amount of stuff going on I guess. I figured my laptop (which has a intel core i7) which easily handled Nidhogg 1 would be able to handle a 2D Rayman-like game. Only one thing is certain in Nidhogg… the only way to win is to outwit your opponent. So I was a huge fan of Nidhogg 1 and have been waiting for Nidhogg 2 ever since it was announced. Until you reach your goal-zone, anything is possible. Each arena holds different strategic formations and chokepoints to use to your advantage. Matches aren’t won or lost with a single kill, but with a series of kills granting you right-of-way to run/fight/flee to your own goal-zone. If swordless, press forward with punches, sweep kicks, dive kicks, rolls, and wall jumps. The combat arena stretches in both directions, although besting an opponent only gains you ground. Use a variety of fencing maneuvers while armed lunges, parries, and even dirty tricks like throwing your sword. Beware, advantages in Nidhogg are often fleeting, as new opponents continually spawn in your way. IRL yelling and excitement may occur, in this ultimate two-player showdown of fast-paced fencing and melee attacks. Nidhogg is the epic award-winning fencing tug-of-war, full of graceful acrobatics and clumsy stabs.
